Pathfinders - Accessible Holidays Virtual Event

We were delighted to have been recently approached by Pathfinders, to take part in their virtual event all about accessible holidays.

Since their foundation in 2014, Pathfinders have set out to improve the lives of adults and teenagers who live with neuromuscular conditions. They offer information, support, arrange social events for people living with a neuromuscular conditions, and are advocates and campaigners for the issues that these disabilities present.

Wheelie Good Holidays

On the 3rd of August 2021, an online event was held via video call, titled ‘Wheelie Good Holidays’, which looked into everything from air travel with a wheelchair to sharing funny holiday stories with audience participation. Included in the 2 hour event there was a section dedicated to accessible holiday websites, which covered Euan’s Guide, Changing Places Toilets, Access Able - And us, here at Adventure Wheels.

It was an honour to have Adventure Wheels featured in the event, and having been advocates for accessible adventures for a number of years now, we were pleased to be able to give an insight into wheelchair accessible travel using a modified leisure vehicle.

Unfortunately we weren’t able to give our presentation live due to being out on the road exploring the stunning Exmoor National Park, but a pre-filmed clip was sent in to be played during the conference. With a patchy internet signal, we were able to stream some of it, but were thankful to have sent in our more reliable clip!

If you missed the event and would like to see our short presentation, it’s available to view here…

Thank you to Pathfinders for inviting us to take part, and for all of the hard work you do to support people and organise events like this!
