The Bailey Phoenix Launch

As you all know we have a Bailey caravan and are caravan enthusiasts in general. So when we received an invitation from Bailey themselves to attend the press launch of their brand new caravan range- the Phoenix- it was an offer we couldn’t turn down.

Arriving at 10am to the beautiful Stanton House hotel in Swindon we were greeted by many familiar faces. Some we’ve previously met in person, some we know online- all very friendly!

After a short presentation from Bailey’s marketing team explaining the ins and outs of the Phoenix range, we couldn’t wait to take a look at them for ourselves! The 7 new models are replacing the current “entry level” range- the Bailey Pursuit, although it was clear that the Phoenix is much more of a “first choice” caravan than “entry level” as it’s a step above your average entry level caravan whilst still remaining competitively priced. And with layouts ranging from 2 to 6 berth there is a model for everyone.

Having the French bed layout in our own adventure-mobile we were naturally drawn to the Phoenix 440 and were keen to see how it compares.

From the outside I instantly love it. The new purple decals against the polar white bodyshell, along with Bailey’s signature opening vertical skylight, gives it a very modern look- and one that is instantly recognisable! The size is a bit smaller than our Bailey Unicorn Valencia, but heading inside you can see that the space hasn’t been reduced where it matters- the bed is the same size and the washroom is very spacious! The only noticeable reduction is in the sofas, but since this layout is often bought by couples it wouldn’t necessarily be an issue. Plus the smaller size makes it easier to tow and a perfect “first choice” for newbie caravaners.

I was pleasantly surprised by the comfort of the sofas and particularly liked that the decor was neutral, meaning you could personalise it however you like. Although if interior design isn’t your thing Bailey have created a “dressing pack” as an optional extra, including 4 scatter cushions, 2 bolsters, 2 pure wool throws and a washroom carpet.

After getting a little too comfortable in the 440 we managed to peel ourselves off to take a look around all the rest, each one as impressive as the last. Some of the most popular features are the return of the stable door, the addition of USB sockets in the reading lights, and of course the huge vertical skylight, letting in so much light and framing the view of wherever your adventures may take you.

We had a fantastic day seeing the new Phoenix range and socialising with other bloggers, vloggers and journalists, but it was time to head back to our very own caravan on a sunny Cotswolds campsite for a BBQ with some fellow bloggers- Further proving that the new Bailey slogan “your holiday, your way” is a great way to sum up the awesomeness of caravanning.
